Why Not Cast Iron? The Long-Lasting Advantage of a Steel Body
Many of the low-cost 40-ton presses sold on the market have an old-technology cast iron body. Cast bodies cannot tolerate the shock waves caused by the continuous and rapid strokes of the press and develop "invisible" flexing and even micro-cracks over time. This flexing shifts the axis of your mold, quickly blunts your cutting blades, and causes your products to have burrs.
The most fundamental element that distinguishes the Karmaksan brand is its steel body press architecture. The C-Type chassis of our machines are joined by robotic gas metal arc welding from ST-52 quality high-strength thick steel plates. After welding, "heat treatment" is applied in giant furnaces to reset all stress and tension in the metal. The result is an unshakeable body that does not flex even a thousandth of a millimeter even at full capacity 40-ton strokes, doubling your mold life.

Presses with a mechanical (rigid) clutch cannot stop "without completing their stroke" in emergencies. Even if the operator takes their foot off the pedal in a moment of danger, that multi-ton ram will inevitably come down.
